Thanksgiving celebration of the miraculous rain to Saint John the Russian of Eviatranslated

On the afternoon of Thursday, August 6, 2026, at the Holy Pilgrimage of St. John the Russian in Neo Prokopi, Evia, the solemn Vespers of the established thanksgiving celebration, of the miracle of St. John, that is, of the unexpected rain (August 7, 2021) and rescue of Prokopi from the fire, was held. In view of the celebration, the Most Reverend Metropolitan of Chalkidos, Mr. Chrysostomos and the Most Reverend Bishop of Skopelos, Mr. Nikodimos, welcomed the Most Reverend Metropolitans of Patras, Mr. Chrysostomos, Thebes, Levadeia and Avlis, Mr. Georgios, and Mr. Aetolia and Mr. Akarnania. Shortly before Vespers, the Ephesian holy icon of Saints Constantine and Helen, protectors of the Parish of Procopius, was brought to the I. Church of Saint John in a procession, since, under the threat of fire, the holy icons of the Apostles kings and Saint John were destroyed.
