Ordination of a Deacon at the Holy Cathedral of Agia Fotini Ierapetratranslated

The ordination of Deacon Mr. Charalambis Menegakis, who comes from the Diocese of Ierapetra and is married, took place on Saturday, October 3, 2026, in the Holy Cathedral of Agia Foteini in the city of Ierapetra, with splendor and rejoicing, and with the participation of a large number of believers, by Rev. Metropolitan of Ierapytni and Sitia Mr. Kyrillo. The Reverend Mr. Kyrillos officiated at the liturgy, at the end of which he ordained the deacon candidate as a Subdeacon and the Canonical Confession of the spiritual father of the Archbishop was read. Porphyriou Angelakis, Vicar of the church. Then Subdeacon Charalambos was led in front of the icon of Christ on the iconostasis, where he stood holding the stele and covered with a towel to the Great Entrance of the Holy Gifts, whereupon he stood in front of the icon of the Most Holy Theotokos on the iconostasis, waiting for the moment of his ordination.
