With warm and touching words, the Most Reverend Metropolitan of Patras Mr. Chrysostomos made a special reference to the Firefighters, whom he described as heroes, because they fight with self-sacrifice in order to save the lives and properties of their fellow human beings from the terrible fires. His Eminence, spoke about the fires that are burning our Homeland these days and leaving behind ashes and rubble, destroying the lives and property of our brothers and thus desolating our villages, but also other areas that were bustling with life and tourism.

Last year, His Eminence noted, we experienced the terrible disasters from the fires in Western Achaia, but also around the city of Patras, with the flames threatening the city itself.

This year again in Western Achaia, the properties of the residents of the village of Floka, who lived from olive production and animal husbandry, were destroyed.
