The pilgrimage and cultural tour of the Metropolitan of Thessaliotidos in Sicily continuestranslated

With particular joy and rich experiences, the excursion of His Eminence Metropolitan Mr. Timotheus continued on Thursday, October 1, 2026 after the excursions in the magical Sicily. On the fifth day of the excursion, the excursion group departed from Catania bound for Syracuse, one of the most important cities of ancient Greater Greece, with a great historical and cultural presence.

The first stop was the famous Ancient Theater of Syracuse, one of the most important surviving monuments of the ancient Greek world. His Eminence and the excursionists were guided to the archaeological site and admired up close the magnificent theater, its special architecture and its famous acoustics.

The tour group then went to Ortygia, the historic island and old center of Syracuse.
