Florios Ireneos: The Love Shown Above the Cross Is Called to Be a Deedtranslated

On September 13, 2026, the Very Reverend Metropolitan Florios Ireneos visited the Enodia Genesis of the Virgin Leptokaryon. Before the Divine Liturgy ended, Metropolitan Ireneos addressed the congregation appropriately, using the Gospel reading for the day before the Exaltation of the Holy Cross. He spoke about the Cross of Christ as a point of God's love for humanity and as a source of life, hope, and salvation.
He also emphasized that God sent His Son into the world not to condemn it but to save it. He highlighted that the love shown above the Cross is called to be a deed in the life of every Christian through forgiveness, perseverance, offering, and practical love for one's fellow human beings.
Finally, he prayed that the Venerable Cross would support and bless the faithful.
Immediately after, he concluded the four-day commemoration of the blessed Chrysanthos Alexiou, mother of the Protopsalt of the Holy Metropolitan Church of Saint Pantaleimon Florios, Constantine Alexiou.
