The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Cuba to the Archbishop of Americatranslated

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Cuba, Bruno Rodriguez Parisia, was welcomed on Tuesday, September 22, 2026, at the headquarters of the Holy Archdiocese in New York, by the Archbishop of America Mr. Elpidophoros.  The Cuban Foreign Minister is in the United States for the 81st UN General Assembly, while during the meeting with Mr. Elpidoforo he was accompanied by the Deputy Foreign Minister of Cuba, Carlos Fernandez de Cosio.

During the meeting, Mr. Rodríguez informed the Archbishop of America of the constantly worsening humanitarian situation facing the Cuban people and especially the most vulnerable social groups.

His Eminence, for his part, spoke of the Church's responsibility to place the human person and the God-given dignity of each person at the center of its interest. "I will pray that the Lord enlightens the minds and hearts of all those participating in the dialogue, so that they can find a peaceful path forward that will alleviate the suffering and bring hope to the people of Cuba," said Archbishop Mr. Elpidophoros.
