Florinis Irenaios: "Where disappointment ends, trust in Christ begins"translated

The Most Reverend Metropolitan of Florina, Prespa and Eordaia Mr. Irenaios went to Neochoraki Florina, where he officiated at the Holy Church of Agios Athanasios, with the participation of a large number of believers from the parish and the wider area. In his sermon he referred to the Gospel passage of the miraculous fishing and the attitude of the Apostle Peter, who, despite the fatigue and failure of a whole night, trusted the word of Christ and again threw the nets into the sea.

The Metropolitan emphasized that man should not let disappointment lead to resignation, but continue with faith and trust in God. As he characteristically said, "where disappointment ends, trust in Christ begins". In the difficulties of the family, in human relationships and in the trials of everyday life, he called the faithful to persist in prayer and to trust God, even when His answer seems to be delayed.

Referring to the sacramental life of the Church, he noted that through Confession man can make a new beginning, while from the Holy Eucharist he draws strength to continue his spiritual journey.

Thank you, I read it just in time. It also happens to me that I spend the whole night “caught” with the children - either lessons, then quarrels, or just tiredness, but there is no point. These words of the Bishop about Peter and about the fact that “where disappointment ends, trust in Christ begins,” hit the nail on the head. I will try not to give up and cast the net again, like him.
