Samou Eusebius on the Dormition of the Virgin: Our Virgin Mary did not leave the world, because she is our Mothertranslated

In his message for the feast of the Dormition of the Virgin, the Most Reverend Metropolitan of Samos, Korseon and Ikaria, Mr. Eusebius, on the occasion of the Apolytikion that we all sing softly, we declare with certainty that "...You did not fall asleep, Theotokos...". As he typically states, "Our problems and our bitterness are not foreign and unknown to her. Our Virgin Mary was human, just like we are. The Assumption of the Virgin Mary is dear to all of us. And when we chant it softly, you feel that an aura of sweet consolation and joy calms our being, as we proclaim with certainty that "...You did not fall asleep when the world fell asleep, Theotokos...".

And this verse is not empty words, it is not an expression of a religiously charged emotion, which does not correspond to reality. It is a deep and essential truth of our faith, with its direct moral ramifications in our lives.
