Consecration of the Catechetical Schools of our Diocesetranslated

With special joy and blessing, the consecration for the start of the new catechetical year of the Catechetical Schools of the Holy Metropolis of Alexandroupolis took place in the camp facilities next to the Holy Monastery of PANAGIA TOU EVROU in Makri.

The consecration was performed by the priests in charge of the Catechetical Schools, while representing the Most Reverend Metropolitan of Alexandroupolis, Mr. Anthimos, the archpriest Fr. Sokratis Voulgarakis attended. Conveying the paternal wishes and blessings of His Eminence to the children, catechists and parents, he referred to the great importance of catechesis for the formation of the character and spiritual life of young people, stressing that participation in Catechetical Schools is a valuable resource for their life in the Church and society.

The meeting was attended by more than 300 students from all the parishes of the Metropolis. This year's event was of particular importance, as for the first time the consecration took place in a joint meeting of all the Catechetical Schools and not separately in each parish, which highlighted the spirit of unity and cooperation of the local Church.
