The Inauguration of the Metropolitan Holy Chapel of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross Panoramatranslated

On Sunday, September 13 (before the Ascension), His Holiness the Metropolitan of Thessaloniki, Mr. Philotheos, performed the Inauguration of the Metropolitan Holy Chapel of the Ascension of the Holy Cross Panorama according to the prescribed church order. On the eve of the Inauguration (Saturday, September 12), His Holiness buried the martyred holy relics, which during the Ceremony of the Inauguration were deposited in the "phyton" of the Holy Table.

The martyred relics belong to the holy and glorious New Martyrs - Fathers of the Holy Monastery of Tao Penteli, to the holy martyr Eftychianos from Crete and to the Holy Serbian New Martyrs, the ones in Jasenovac undone by the Nazi occupation forces.

The Inauguration of a Holy Church is a unique joyous event for the entire local Church, since it is celebrated once for the Holy Church being opened each time.

On Saturday afternoon, the Pastor Mr. Philotheos, after burying the martyr's relics, which he deposited in the Holy Altar, presided over the Vespers of the Inauguration and preached the divine word.
