HIERARCHY 2026: The start of the first day of work (PHOTO)translated

The work of the Holy Synod of the Hierarchy of the Church of Greece began this morning, under the Presidency of His Beatitude the Archbishop of Athens and all Greece, Mr. Ieronymou, in the Conference Hall of the Synod Palace in Athens. Before the Session, a High Priestly Divine Liturgy was held in the Catholic Church of the Holy Monastery of the Incorporeal Petrakis, officiated by the Most Reverend Metropolitan of Corinth, Mr. Pavlos.

Then, in the Hall of Sessions of the Holy Synod of the Hierarchy, the Sequence was chanted for the commencement of Her work. After the List of participating Hierarchs was read, a quorum was established.

Afterwards, His Beatitude Archbishop of Athens and All Greece Mr. Ieronymos, President of the Holy Synod of the Hierarchy, addressed the Most Reverend Synodal Convenors, while the first member of the Synodal members, His Eminence Metropolitan of Karystia and Skyros, Mr. Seraphim, duly objected.

This will be followed by the election of the Committee of High Priests for the announcements to the press and the Proceedings Reports of the Synodal Committees under their Reverend Presidents for the church year 2025-2026 will be presented.
