Program for the celebration of the Dormition of the Virgin in the Metropolis of Messiniatranslated

With splendor and the proper ecclesiastical order this year the great feast of the Dormition of the Virgin will be celebrated in the Holy Metropolis of Messinia. The focus of the religious events, as every year, will be the historic Holy Monasteries of Vulkanou and Dimiovi.

On the eve of the feast, August 14, 2026 at 7 p.m., the Most Reverend Metropolitan of Messinia, Mr. Chrysostomos, will officiate at the solemn Vespers at the Cemetery Church of the Dormition of the Theotokos Kalamata.

His Eminence the Metropolitan of Carthage, Mr. Meletios, will officiate at the solemn Vespers at the Dormition Monastery of the Virgin Dimiovi at 7:30 p.m.

The Protosygello of the First Metropolis of Messinia Panosiol. Chief Philippos Hamargias will lead the solemn Vespers at the I. Dormition Monastery of the Theotokos Vulkanos at 7 p.m.

On the feast day of August 15, 2026, Rev. Metropolitans of Carthage Mr. Meletios and Mr. Chrysostomos of Messinia will lead the solemn celebration in the Holy Dormition Monastery of Vulkanos.
