Work is progressing rapidly at Timvos Kasta, in Amphipolistranslated

Amphipolis is entering a new phase of prominence with a focus on the extensive protection, restoration and maintenance work that is progressing at the Tomb of Kasta, the magnificent monument, on a global level. The progress of the work at the Tomb - the unveiling of the monumental enclosure as a whole, the repositioning of the marble door of the Macedonian tomb, the completion of anti-flood protection, the start of the construction of the museum shell - create the conditions for its performance to the public in 2028. At the same time, the archaeological site is systematically being implemented in a wider strategic plan for the overall upgrade of the archaeological site of Amphipolis.
In this context, the Minister of Culture Lina Mendoni presented to the public two more important projects, which strengthen the infrastructure and upgrade the physical and digital experience of the visitors. The first concerns the only surviving Ancient Wooden Bridge in Strymons, after the completion of the maintenance work on the wooden piles, remains of the ancient construction, which dates back to the 6th century BC, as well as the installation of a new protective roof.
