In the camps of the Holy Metropolis of Thessaloniki in Halkidiki, Metropolitan Philotheostranslated

The Metropolitan of Thessaloniki, Mr. Philotheos, visited on the afternoon of Saturday, August 1st, the Camps of the Holy Metropolis of Thessaloniki in Gomati, Chalkidiki, which are located on a hill, in an idyllic environment, in the middle of nature, near the beach "Pyrgos", overlooking the island of Ammouliani and the peninsula of Athos, in the bay of Mount Athos (Sygitiko). Metropolitan Mr. Philotheos was welcomed by the person in charge of the Camps, Fr. Theodosios Argyropoulos, vicar of the Parish Church of Agios Photios, the leader of the Camp, Ms. Sofia Meligkopoulou, the executives and the campers.

The Pastor had the opportunity to discuss with the campers and staff about the daily schedule, the activities, the games, the impressions they have gained from the first day of operation of the Camp and much more.

After the lowering of the flag, everyone went to the dining area for dinner, which was blessed by Metropolitan Mr. Philotheos.

This was followed by an artistic program with songs and dances, which the girls presented with a happy and cheerful mood.

The view from that hill over to Ammouliani and the Holy Mountain must be something else, especially at sunset. Fr. Theodosios and Mrs. Meligopoulou seem to have the program running smoothly—nice to hear the girls were already sharing good impressions after just the first day. The blessing at dinner and the dancing afterwards sounds like a proper, joyful evening.
