Pieria: Positive messages to the Holy Diocese of Kitros from visitors for pastoral initiativestranslated

Pieria is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Greece, welcoming every year thousands of visitors from Greece and abroad. Among them are many visitors from the Balkan countries with a particularly strong presence in the coastal areas of the prefecture. Responding to the needs of visitors and having as a perennial priority the pastoral ministry of all those who are in Pieria, the Holy Metropolis of Kitros, Katerinis and Platamonos has developed in recent years an important project of outreach, focusing on the operation of the Holy Churches in the tourist destinations and providing the opportunity to participate in the religious life of the Church.

Special care has been given to visitors from Slavic-speaking countries. In the main coastal settlements of Pieria, where tourist traffic is particularly high during the summer months, services are held in Slavonic and the possibility of serving the faithful in their own language is provided, so that their presence in Pieria is accompanied by the possibility of substantial participation in the Orthodox worship tradition.
