The Divine Liturgy for the feast of Panagia Pantanassi in Porto Lagos with splendor (PHOTO)translated

On Thursday, September 24, the Solemn Divine Liturgy was celebrated with particular splendor and in an atmosphere of deep sorrow, on the feast of the Most Holy Theotokos of Pantanassi, in the Vatopedino Metochi of Agios Nikolaos, on Lake Vistonida, in Porto Lagos.

The Divine Liturgy was presided over by the Most Holy Bishop of Polystylos, Mr. Sophronios, who was flanked by the Abbot of the Holy Great Monastery of Vatopedi, Elder Ephraim, Vatopedi fathers and clergy who participated in the celebration.

From early in the morning, a large number of believers from the wider region of Thrace, from Macedonia, Cyprus, Romania, came to the Vatopedino Metochi of Agios Nikolaos, in order to participate in the Divine Liturgy and honor the Most Holy Theotokos of Pantanassa.

The pilgrims, with reverence and enthusiasm, flooded the grounds of Metochion, participating in the solemn procession.

The presence of representatives of the Armed Forces and the Security Forces was also special. Among those present were officers of the Army, the Hellenic Police, the Coast Guard and the Fire Brigade.
