Interesting that Father Barnabas comes from the Monastery of Saint Theodora – he spoke so clearly about spiritual fatherhood in Thessaloniki last year. Discernment is truly the most difficult thing for a confessor to learn. I hope the priests take a lot with them to Arnea.

This is a good topic. Discernment is the most difficult thing for a confessor that I have heard from our priests over the years. I hope that our people from Arnai will take it away and that Father Barnabas will speak as clearly as he did last year in Thessaloniki.

They chose a good topic. Fr. Barnavas last year in Thessaloniki spoke very clearly about how the spiritual must distinguish real repentance from excuses, I remember. I hope that some practical examples will come out for our priests, because time is usually lost in the administration afterwards.

The topic on discernment sounds practical. I remember Father Barnabas speaking in Thessaloniki last year about telling real repentance from excuses, exactly as Panagiotis mentioned. Hope the priests come away with a few clear examples they can actually use, especially when the administrative bits start dragging on.

I agree, the matter is practical and Fr. Varnavas does not speak in general terms. Last year in Arnaia he had said something about the spiritual who should ask "what exactly did you do?" instead of "how do you feel?" – that remains. I hope they leave time for questions, because the administrative stuff really misses the point. are you going
