Provincial Synod of Australia: In the National Census we state that we are GREEK ORTHODOXtranslated

The work of the Holy Provincial Synod of the Archdiocese of Australia, which met on an extraordinary basis from the 28th to today, the 30th of July 2026, under the Presidency of Rev. Archbishop of Australia Mr. Makarios. The Holy Synod, during its Sessions, dealt with the issues of the Agenda and, among others, took the following decisions:

a. Urges the Christ-named crew of the Holy Archdiocese of Australia to actively participate in the National Census, which will take place on the 11th of August this year. In the census it is important to declare our national origin and our church entity. The message of the Holy Synod to all is to declare that we are GREEK ORTHODOX.

b. A special Committee, chaired by the Archbishop, was assigned the drafting of the Special Regulations, provided for by the Constitution, which are:

1. Regulation of Operation of the Synod,

2. Regulation of Ecclesiastical Justice,

3. Regulation on Synodical Committees,

4. Regulation of the Enthronement and Exit Procession of the Archbishop and the Bishops,

5. Regulation of the Clergy and Lay Assembly,

6. Regulation of operation of...
