Ordination of a Deacon in Corfutranslated

On Sunday, September 27, 2026, 1 Luke, the Most Reverend Metropolitan of Corfu, Paxos and Diapontian Islands, Mr. Nektarios, officiated and spoke at the historic Church of Agios Ioannis Prodromos of the city of Corfu. During the Divine Liturgy, His Eminence performed the ordination to Deacon of the monk Chrysanthos Tsirigotis, brother of the Holy Monastery of Agios Theodoros Tironos and Agios Georgios the Trophy Bearer of the Army. The new Deacon is 30 years old, an economist and a Theology student. In addition, the Preacher of the Holy Metropolis, His Eminence Archimandrite Dositheos Popamitros, the spiritual father of the ordained, His Eminence Archimandrite Polykarpos Zervos, the head of the Holy Church, Protopresbyter Athanasios Kokkinopoulos, close to whom the Fr. Chrysanthos ministered for a number of years as a layman, as well as the Deacons of His Eminence.

It is worth mentioning that the attendance of the faithful was particularly large, who came to participate in the Divine Liturgy and to pray during the ordination of the new Deacon, expressing their love and joy with their presence.
