Ioannina welcomed the Holy Relic of Saint Amfilochiustranslated

A special moment was experienced on Friday night in Ioannina, when a fragment of the Holy Relic of Saint Amfilochios Makris, the Elder of Patmos, arrived in the city where he had ministered many decades ago. The Holy Relic of Saint Amfilochius was brought from Patmos by the Most Reverend Archimandrite Bartholomew, with the blessing and permission of His Holiness the Ecumenical Patriarch. Bartholomew and the Professor of the Holy Monastery of Agios Ioannis the Theologian of Patmos Father Kyrillos.

The reception of the Holy Relic was carried out by the Most Reverend Metropolitan of Ioannina Mr. Maximos, flanked by a multitude of clergy of the Holy Metropolis of Ioannina.

After the deposit of the Holy Relic in the Holy Church, the Great Solemnity Vespers was held and then the Prayer Canon to the Saint.

This was followed by the Orthros and the Solemn Divine Liturgy, which was presided over by the Most Reverend Metropolitan of Ioannina Mr. Maximos.
