The feast of the Prophet Elias in the village of Maalule, Nazarethtranslated

The memory of the Prophet Elias (with the old calendar) was commemorated on Saturday, July 26/August 8, 2026 by the Patriarchate of Jerusalem in the Holy Church of the same name, in the village of Maaloule, near the green hill near Nazareth. This Holy Church belonged to the Roman-Orthodox Community of Maaloule county, which was forced to abandon it, due to the events of 1948. It remained abandoned until the last years, when it was preserved under the blessed Archimandrite Hilarion, Abbot of the Holy Monastery of Mount Taborios and the Venerable Metropolitan of Nazareth Mr. Kyriakou, the blessing of the A.Th.M. and it became operable again.

In this church the Patriarch of Jerusalem Theophilos presided over the divine liturgy, co-celebrated by the Reverend Metropolitan of Nazareth Mr. Kyriakos and the Reverend Archbishop Konstantinos Mr. Aristarchos, the Secretary of the Holy and Holy Synod Archimandrite Fr. of this area.
