The Patriarchate of Jerusalem: "We Will Protect the Ecclesiastical Assets in Holy Land"translated

The Patriarchate of Jerusalem, through a related statement, reaffirms its continuous commitment to protecting ecclesiastical assets throughout the Holy Land, including the Holy Monastery of Saint Gerasimus (Deir Ghazal) in the Jordan Valley. And continues in the statement by noting that "The Patriarchate emphasized that these assets and endowments are consistently found within the framework of efforts aimed at challenging and thwarting any attempts."

It further clarified that the Monastery of Deir Ghazal was founded in 455 AD, and that its blessed Abbot, Archimandrite Chrysostomos, dedicated more than 55 years to the service of the Church. After his repose, the Patriarchate proceeded with the required administrative and economic procedures for reorganizing and smoothing the operation of the Monastery.

The Patriarchate noted that, after the repose of the blessed Archimandrite, certain parties attempted to construct and spread rumors through social media networks in order to exert pressure on the Patriarchate to reverse the administrative and economic reforms at the Monastery.
