Fear: Cause and Curetranslated

The Christian faith does not question the existence of fear in human life. He accepts it as reality but also interprets it. Fear is a result of man's fall into sin – it opened the way for all kinds of fear in his life and therefore for the tragedy of his earthly course.

With the coming of Christ, however, man found his normal course again and felt again that love and friendship surround him from everywhere. Christ shed abundant light on his life to see that God is exactly his friend and Father, his fellow man his brother, nature his sister. In fact, after the coming of Christ, nothing can threaten the life of man. Because with Him we became children of God again. Christ hired us to Himself and became our garment. "Those of you who were baptized into Christ, put on Christ" (Gal. 3, 27). We are covered and secured in the almighty and all-good God himself. He is our home, both soul and body. Ирина ВоробьёваСпасибо, очень понятно написано. Особенно зацепило, что после Христа «ничего не может угрожать жизни человека», потому что мы оделись в Него, как в одежду. У меня иногда страх за дочку просыпается, а после таких слов легче вспоминать, что мы в Его доме, а не сами по себе.

Christopher MooreThanks for sharing this. The bit about us being “clothed in Christ” like a garment really stuck with me too, same as Irina said. When I start worrying about the girls walking home from school, it helps to remember we’re not out there on our own – we’re inside His house. Makes the fear feel smaller.
