Manis Chrysostomos celebrated Divine Liturgy in the burnt chapel of Ag. Ioannou in "Alexianika"translated

On Sunday, September 13, 2026, Rev. Metropolitan of Mani Mr. Chrysostomos III went to the fire-burnt chapel of Ag. Ioannou in the settlement "Alexianika" of the village of Agios Vassiliou Gythei and celebrated the Divine Liturgy there in the courtyard. It was a very moving moment for all believers. The chapel is from the second half of the 18th century. After the Divine Liturgy, His Holiness visited another completely burned chapel of Panagia (18th century) in the wider area.
The relevant actions are being carried out in close cooperation with the competent Archaeological Service (Lakonia Antiquities Office), which from the first moment of the disaster showed significant interest in the entire restoration and protection of these fire-damaged churches, even chapels.
