Karoti Evrou becomes a point of reference for the Thracian tradition – Museum the School attended by Aidonidis and Doitsidistranslated

The signing of a Cultural Development Program Agreement between the Ministry of Culture and the Municipality of Didymoteicho was recently announced, for the conversion into a Museum of the inactive school unit in the settlement of Karotis, the special homeland of the great Thracian performers of the tradition, Chronis Aidonidis and Karyofyllis Doitsidis, where a space dedicated to the preservation and promotion of our musical and folkloric heritage is being created. This new cultural structure aspires to be a point of reference for Thracian tradition, honoring the great cultural legacy left by these leading artists, keeping their memory and work alive for future generations.

On the occasion of this pleasant development, on Sunday 5th of Matthew, the 5th of July, the Most Reverend Metropolitan of Didymoteicho, Orestia and Soufli Mr. Damaskinos visited Karoti and officiated at the Holy Parish Church of Agios Georgios.

After the end of the Divine Liturgy, His Eminence performed Trisagio for the repose of Chroni Aidonidis and Karyofyllis Doitsidis. The Commander of the XVI Division, Lt. Gen. Pand, attended the church. Vasiliadis and the Mayor...

Good to see the old school in Karoti getting turned into a museum for Aidonidis and Doitsidis. Their voices carried so much of our Thracian tradition. Nice that the Metropolitan served the Trisagion for them right after Liturgy on July 5th.

Хорошо, что школу в Кароти не бросили, а сделали музей именно для Аидонидиса и Доицидиса. Их голоса до сих пор в голове крутятся, когда поёшь «Тракийские песни». Интересно, будут ли там старые записи или просто фотографии с инструментами.

Bine că au transformat școala din Karoti în muzeu, exact pentru Aidonidis și Doitsidis. Mi-a plăcut că Mitropolitul Damaskinos a slujit Trisagionul pentru ei imediat după Liturghie pe 5 iulie. Oare vor pune și înregistrările vechi cu vocile lor acolo?

Хорошо, что школу в Кароти не оставили пустовать, а сделали музей именно для Аидонидиса и Доицидиса. Помню, как Аидонидис пел «Тракийские песни» — голос до сих пор в ушах стоит. Интересно, будут ли там старые грампластинки или только фотографии с инструментами.

Da, și eu mă bucur că au ales exact școala lor veche pentru muzeu. Trisagionul imediat după Liturghie mi s-a părut un gest frumos și firesc din partea Mitropolitului Damaskinos. Cred că da, vor pune înregistrări vechi, altfel n-ar avea sens un astfel de loc.

I like that they’re using the exact old school building in Karoti where both men studied. The Trisagion right after Liturgy on the 5th felt right, especially with the Metropolitan there. Hope they include some of those old field recordings; that’s what really brings the Thracian songs back to life.

Добро је што су изабрали баш ту стару школу у Кароти где су учили Аидонидис и Дојцидис. После Литургије на Светог Атанасија 5. јула, када је Владика Дамаскинос служио Трисвето за њих двојицу, то је баш како треба. Надам се да ће ставити и неке старе снимке, јер без гласа се та традиција не осећа.

Да, согласна, хорошо что не забросили здание. У Аидонидиса действительно голос особенный, «Тракийские песни» у меня дома до сих пор на диске лежат. Интересно, будут ли там ещё и записи его рассказов про деревенские праздники, как он их в интервью вспоминал?

Да, здание точно стоит сохранить, а то сколько таких школ по деревням пустует. У Аидонидиса голос действительно ни с чем не спутаешь, у меня тоже его диск с тракийскими песнями завалялся. А ты не помнишь, в каком интервью он про деревенские праздники рассказывал? Было бы здорово, если в музее и такие записи поставят.

Да, Ксения, старые школы в деревнях действительно жалко бросать, в нашей стороне тоже такие стоят. У Аидонидиса голос и правда сразу узнаешь, особенно в «Тракийских песнях». А про интервью про деревенские праздники я, честно, не помню — может, в каком-то старом сборнике с его рассказами было?
