Night service of the Cemetery Church of Agios Athanasios in Lianokladitranslated

The Reverend Metropolitan of Fthiotidos, Mr. Simeon, performed the closing ceremony of yet another Church, this time at the Parish Cemetery in the beautiful Lianokladi, in this fertile area of the Municipality of Lamia, which connects the Municipality of Lamia with the Municipality of Makrakomi and the historic Western Fthiotida. The Church of the Cemetery of the village, in honor of Saint Athanasios the Great, was renovated from the ground up by the Head of the Parish of Lianokladi, Fr. Efstathios Katopis, the Church Council and with the assistance of all the pious parishioners, as well as with the support of the Municipality of Lamia and the late Member of Parliament Fthiotidos Mr. Themistocles Heimara and many more named and anonymous donors.

Near the new Church there was a pre-revolutionary Church in honor of Agios Athanasios, which for many decades functioned as the central parish Church, since the Church of Agios Georgios was set on fire by order of the Sultan, due to the performance of the Sunday Divine Liturgy, which began in his absence.
