Consecration at the Naval Station of Crete by the Metropolitan of Kydonia and Apokoronoutranslated

The Naval Station of Crete was visited on Monday, August 10, 2026, by the Most Reverend Metropolitan of Kydonia and Apokoronou, Mr. Titos, upon the invitation of the Commander of the Naval Station of Crete, Archpriest Athanasios Douros PN. His Eminence performed the Consecration sequence, wishing God, through the embassies of the Most Holy Theotokos, to strengthen and protect the Officers, executives, sailors and civilian personnel of the Navy of Crete during the performance of their mission and duties.
In his speech, His Holiness referred in particular to the blessed period of the Fifteenth of August, during which the Church spiritually prepares for the great Mother of God feast of the Dormition of the Blessed Virgin Mary, which has rightly been characterized as the "Easter of Theros".
His Eminence spoke about the face of the Virgin Mary and Her motherly presence in the lives of the faithful, urging those present to make spiritual use of these days with prayer, participation in the Holy Supplications, Holy Confession and attending the Sacrament of the Holy Eucharist.
