The Feast of the Lifting of the Holy Cross Celebrated with Great Splendor in the Greek Community of Kinšasatranslated

With particular brilliance and solemnity, today the Great Feast of the Lifting of the Precious and Life-Giving Cross was celebrated in the Greek Community of Kinšasa. The Very Reverend Metropolitan of Kinšasa, Archbishop Theodosios, completed the Divine Liturgy in the Hierarchical Metropolitan Church of Saint Nicholas of the Greek Community of Kinšasa.

Among those officiating were the Protoeparch, Archimandrite Gerasimos, and the Archimandrites Ioannas, Nikodemos, and Paisios; the General Episcopal Commissioner, Protopriest Callinicos; the Archdeacon Hierotheos; and Deacon Cyranos.

The Epistle was read from the Metropolitan's Encyclical for the Feast of the Lifting of the Precious Cross. Special mention was made of the historic establishment of the feast, as well as the power and hope that flow from Christ’s Cross to every person.

At the conclusion of the Divine Liturgy, according to the custom of the Church, the Service of the Lifting of the Precious Cross was completed in a climate of deep solemnity and reverence.
