The Minister of Education of Serbia to Metropolitan Irenaeus of Batskatranslated

Religious education and the establishment of the Orthodox University "Agios Savvas" were at the center of the meeting in Novi Sad, on Wednesday, September 30, 2026, between the Metropolitan of Bacska, Mr. Irenaeus, and the Minister of Education of Serbia, Dejan Vuk Stankovic.  Mr. Stankovic thanked Metropolitan Batskas Mr. Irenaios for the welcome, expressed his satisfaction with the meeting and emphasized that one of the priorities of the Ministry of Education is the reaffirmation of the educational role of schools and the improvement of the quality of education at all levels.]

The Minister emphasized that in these difficult times it is necessary to maintain unity and mutual respect, as well as hope for a better future. Among other things, the meeting also discussed religious education in schools, as well as the establishment of the Serbian Orthodox University "Agios Savvas".
