L. Mendoni: The memorandum with Bulgaria provides for the continuation of the discussion on the return of the relicstranslated

Regarding the Greece-Bulgaria agreement for the return of 48 relics to our country and the delivery of the remains of Tsar Samuel to the neighboring country - which was signed in Thessaloniki on October 3 in the presence of the Prime Ministers of the two countries - Lina Mendoni, the Minister of Culture, spoke yesterday on ERT radio and on the program "Morning Routes" with the Vassilis Adamopoulos and Maria Georgiou. Mrs. Mendoni said that "this agreement is important because the two neighboring countries, which are friends with each other and must live together, are slowly managing to heal wounds of the past. The theft and removal of treasures and ecclesiastical relics from Macedonian monasteries in the period after the Balkan wars and during the Second World War is known. Monasteries and Metropolitans of Macedonia suffered the seizure of very important ecclesiastical relics. So this discussion about the return has started from the conditions after the First World War.
