Over 50,000 people worshiped the relic of Saint Spyridon the Trident in Chelyabinsktranslated

On September 9-11, 2026, the reliquary with the right hand of Saint Spyridon was transferred to Chelyabinsk. The holy relic was transported to the South Urals from Khabarovsk on the evening of September 9. The reliquary is accompanied by Archimandrite Christodoulos, representative of the Greek delegation from Corfu. The Metropolitan of Chelyabinsk Mr. Alexios and the Governor of the Chelyabinsk Region Alexei Teksler welcomed the right hand of Saint Spyridon on the steps of the plane.

A short prayer service in honor of Saint Spyridon was held at Igor Kurchatov Airport, which was attended by the mayor of Chelyabinsk, Alexei Loskin, and the head of the regional Ministry of Internal Affairs, Sergei Kosmatsov. The relic was then transferred to the Cathedral of the Nativity of Christ.

The relic was received on the square in front of the Cathedral by the military band of the Chelyabinsk Guard, the cadets of the Chelyabinsk Higher Naval Military Aviation School, the bishops and numerous clergy of the Chelyabinsk Diocese, the townspeople and pilgrims.
