The Holy Relic of Saint Photini the Samaritan in Evangelistria – 100 years of history of Evangelistria Nea Ioniatranslated

The refugee parish of Evangelistria Nea Ionia is going to experience historic moments during the week of 24 to 30/9, as part of the celebrations for the completion of 100 years of its history. The top event in the festive four days is, of course, the arrival and a few days' stay to venerate the holy Relic of Saint Photini the Samaritan and Isapostolos, patron saint of the unforgettable Smyrna, which is kept in the Holy Monastery of Ibera on Mount Athos.

The holy Relic will be transferred, on Thursday 24/9, by the Abbot of the Monastery of Iberia Archim. Nathanael and will welcome it in the forecourt of the Church, at 6.30 pm, Rev. Metropolitan of Dimitrias Mr. Ignatios, head of the holy Clergy and the pious people.

It will be followed by High Priestly Vespers, officiated by Rev. Pastor Mr. Ignatiou.

The holy Relic of Agia Fotini will remain for veneration until 9/30, when it will return to Mount Athos.
