Eastern Uganda: The Transfiguration was celebrated in the "village of the Larisaeans" with a new group baptismtranslated

With particular splendor and in a climate of deep emotion, the Despotic feast of the Transfiguration of the Savior was celebrated again this year in the "village of the Larisaeans" in Eastern Uganda. This day sealed once again the strong bonds of love and giving that have developed between the Diocese of Larisa and Tyrnavos and the diocese of Jinja and Eastern Uganda. The solemn Divine Liturgy was presided over by the Most Reverend Bishop of Jinja and Eastern Uganda Mr. Silvestros, flanked by priests of his diocese.
In his sermon, he analyzed the theological meaning of the holiday, making a special parallel with the gradual "transformation" of the area there. As he pointed out, this project is being developed thanks to the continuous support of the Metropolis of Larissa and Tyrnavos, the activity of the missionary association "March of Love" and the touching offers of many Larissaians.
After the end of the Liturgy, in which hundreds of faithful - mostly young children - took part, the image of the Transfiguration was taken around the grounds of the Missionary Center and the traditional baking followed.
