The Patriarch of Serbia at the Theological Seminary of Saint Savvastranslated

His Beatitude Patriarch of Serbia Mr. Porphyrios presided over the Divine Liturgy on September 1, 2026 at the Orthodox Theological Seminary of Saint Savvas in Belgrade. After the Divine Liturgy, a Doxology was performed for the beginning of the new school year. On this occasion, the Patriarch delivered a sermon in which he gave his paternal blessing for the coming school year and greeted all the teachers, employees and students of the Seminary. The Patriarch pointed out that faith in Christ is the foundation and basis of our existence. Outside of faith in God, there are many realities of human ingenuity, but outside of faith in Christ, there is no love of God and fullness of our being.

Accompanied by the Headmaster of Saint Sava's Seminary, Archdeacon Radomir Vrucinic, Serbian Patriarch Porfirios toured the renovated and adapted facilities of the famous ecclesiastical educational institution in Belgrade.

That's nice to see the Patriarch taking time to tour the renovated facilities with the dean. The part about faith in Christ being the only real foundation for love of God and a full life stuck with me — it's the same thing I keep trying to teach my eight-year-old when school starts each fall. Simple reminder.
