The Muftis of Didymoteichos at the Episcopate for wishestranslated

With a feeling of mutual respect and appreciation, the Most Reverend Metropolitan of Didymoteicho, Orestia and Soufli, Mr. Damaschinos, received a ceremonial visit from the Sophologist Mufti of Didymoteicho, Mr. Sherif Emin, in August, in view of the great Feast of the Dormition. His Holiness the Mufti expressed his heartfelt wishes to the Pastor of the Anti-Didymoteihon Church, as well as to the Christians of our Acritian Metropolis, wishing health, peace and prosperity.

During the visit, which took place at the Bishopric of Didymoteicho, the two religious leaders had the opportunity to exchange views on matters of common interest. The importance of the ties of solidarity, mutual understanding and peaceful coexistence of the two religious communities in the sensitive area of ​​Thrace was underlined on both sides.

The Reverend Metropolitan, after warmly thanking His Eminence for his kind visit, richly rejoiced in God's blessing on his work, stressing that religious faith must and must always be a bridge of peace, settlement and love between people.
