Agios Panteleimonas: Iconic temples in Attica dedicated to the Athlete and Healing Martyr of our Churchtranslated

Today our church honors the memory of Saint Panteleimon who was born in Nicomedia in Asia Minor and distinguished himself as a physician, offering his services free of charge to the poor and sick. For this reason he was called Anargyros, i.e. a doctor who did not receive a fee. Pemptousiatv and journalist Dimitris Stroumbakos take us on a tour of the Holy Church of Agios Panteleimonos in Ilissos and the Chapel of Agios Panteleimonos in Anavyssos.
The Holy Church of Agios Panteleimonos Ilissos Father Spyridon Londos, head of the Church, tells us about the history of the Holy Church of Agios Panteleimonos Ilissos. Under the hill of Kynosargos, in the middle of a rich ecosystem, near a bank of the Ilissos, there was the old small church of Agios Panteleimonos, where the Holy priest Nikolaos Planas was the vicar. In the registry books of the church it appears that Osios performed the last Sacrament of Baptism on February 17, 1891.
