Makarios of Australia: "Even today, in an age of challenges and voyeurism, the priesthood remains attractive"translated

At the Holy Cathedral of the Dormition of the Virgin, in Mt Gravatt, Brisbane, the Most Reverend Archbishop of Australia Mr. Makarios officiated on Sunday, July 19, the third and last day of his pastoral visit to the capital of Queensland. On this day, our Church honors the Holy 630 God-bearing Fathers of the Fourth Ecumenical Council, which convened in Chalcedon in 451 AD. In addition to the spiritual legacy of the Fathers of the Ecumenical Synod in Chalkidon, His Eminence presented before the crowded congregation aspects of the legacy of Saint Porphyrios of Kausokalybitos. The reason for this was the ordination to Deacon of Mr. Panteleimonos Aggelis, who received the name Porphyrios, in honor of the modern, popular Saint of our Church.
