The Holy Church of Agia Skepi Ptolemaida made a pilgrimage trip to Preveza Prefecturetranslated

With the permission and blessing of our Reverend Metropolitan Mr. Irenaios, the Holy Church of Agia Skepi Ptolemais carried out a daily pilgrimage trip to the Prefecture of Preveza, in which 81 pilgrims participated. The leader of the excursion was the Head of the Holy Church, Protopresbyter Theophilos Fragoulidis.

The first stop of the excursion was the Holy Monastery of Agios Dimitrios in Zalogos. The pilgrims visited the Holy Monastery and were informed about its history, tradition and function.

Afterwards, those who were able climbed the 410 steps that lead to the imposing monument of Zalongos, which was built in memory of the women and children who, according to historical tradition, preferred sacrifice to submission to the Turkalvans.

Afterwards, the excursionists left for the coastal area of ​​the Prefecture of Preveza, where they had the opportunity to stay for a while, before taking the road back to Ptolemaida.

The one-day pilgrimage ended with the return to Ptolemaida, leaving the participants with beautiful memories of visiting places of particular religious and historical importance.
