I am glad that he received Mrs. Ambassador Irene Riga and Consul Dimitrios Angelosopoulos. It is good that Patriarch Theofilos spoke to them about the work of the Patriarchate in Jordan and Palestine, especially since my grandparents were pilgrims there once. Did he mention anything specific about the projects in Qatar?

It doesn't say anything concrete about Qatar in the announcement, but I know that some work started there on a small chapel two years ago. The Patriarch did a good job explaining the full scope of the work—Palestine, Israel, Jordan, Sinai and even Qatar. I remember reading about that small chapel project starting in Doha a couple years back; glad it got a mention. Interesting that the Greek ambassador came with the consul from Jerusalem.

In our choir we just recently sang the troparion of the Assumption, on that very day according to the old style. But they didn’t write anything about the Serbian pilgrims and Father Gregory of Tarsikha, where were they sent after the blessing?
