Naoussa celebrated the memory of the Patron Saint Theophanos the Wonderworkertranslated

The Most Reverend Metropolitan of Berea, Naoussa and Campania, Mr. Panteleimon, celebrated the Divine Liturgy on Wednesday, August 19, 2026 and preached the divine word in the Holy Dormition Church of Naoussa, where the miraculous Holy Icon of Panagia "Pantanassi" is enshrined, on the occasion of the feast of the patron and protector of the heroic and of the city's patron saint, Saint Theophanous the Wonderworker. The Most Reverend Bishop of Domenikos, Mr. Athenagoras, collaborated with him.

During the Divine Liturgy, the Sacred Chariot of Saint Theophanous, which is kept in the Holy Church, was placed in veneration.

His Eminence expressed his thanks to all those who worked for the perfect organization of the festival, first of all the General Hierarchal Commissioner of the Holy Metropolis and head of the Holy Church, Archimandrite Arsenios Chaldaiopoulos.

At the end of the Divine Liturgy, His Holiness ordained Fr. Ioannis Valavanis as Protopresbyter and Fr. Theoklitos Simou as Archimandrite.
