Volokolamsk Antonios met with representatives of the Muslims of the Russian Federationtranslated

On September 23, 2026, a meeting was held at the Department of External Church Relations of the Moscow Patriarchate between Metropolitan of Volokolamsk Mr. Antony, President of the TEES, and Mufti Rusan Abyasov, First Deputy President of the Council of Muftis of Russia and the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of the Russian Federation, President of the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of the Moscow Region. The meeting was also attended by Ildar Galiev, Deputy President of the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of the Russian Federation for International Affairs and Head of the Department of International Affairs. Archpriest Igor Vizanov, Deputy President of TEES, and Priest Ilya Kasichin, Secretary of Interreligious Relations of TEES, represented the Department of External Church Relations.

The participants exchanged views on a wide range of issues, including the state of interreligious relations in Russia and abroad, cultural adaptation of immigrants and Russia's relations with countries of the Islamic world.
