Belarus: Our Lady of Kazan blesses and protects the Railway and passengerstranslated

On the occasion of the Railway Day events – which is celebrated in Belarus on August 2 – the Exarchate of Belarus and the country's Railway Administration signed a memorandum of cooperation aimed at deepening through joint initiatives the development of spiritual and moral education as well as philanthropy and its ramifications in society. At the same time, it was agreed to revive the old tradition in Belarus that the Railwaymen have the Virgin Mary of Kazan as their patron. On August 5, 2026, Metropolitan of Minsk and Zaslavl Mr. Benjamin, Patriarchal Exarch of All Belarus, visited the Railway Administration of Belarus and met with the railway workforce and management.
Our Lady of Kazan, patroness of the Belarusian Railways Metropolitan Mr. Benjamin wished the railway workers and thanked them for their contribution to the people while he emphasized the relationship between the Church and the railway.
