Kisamou Amphilochios: The Theotokos Seeks Humble Hearts to Reveal Her Lovetranslated

In the Holy Metropolitanate of Kisamou and Selino, as it borders the beautiful island of Kythira where the Wonderworking Icon of Panagia the "Myrtiotissa" is found, in the homonymous Holy Monastery of Herself, there is the blessing that many Enoriate Churches are dedicated to the Panagia the "Myrtiotissa". On her feast day, Metropolitan Kisamou Amphilochios presided over the Divine Liturgy in the homonymous Holy Enoriate Church of Tauroniti. In his sermon, he referred to the wonderful discovery of the Wonderworking Icon of the Panagia noting:

"In a humble and insignificant shepherd's hut, our Lady appeared, guiding him to find Her Wonderworking Image among myrtles, hence her name 'Myrtiotissa'. Humble hearts are sought by Her to reveal the mystery of Her love, the mystery of Her presence, for She Herself is and has always been the eternal model of humility and pure heart. Humble hearts attract the grace of God, as well as the sweet presence of our Lady Panagia, which she bestows upon us as a heavenly gift.
