New Georgian Translation of Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew’s Book

A Georgian translation of the book (doctoral dissertation) On the Codification of the Sacred Canons and Canonical Institutions in the Orthodox Church by Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew has been published by Diakonia Publishing House as part of its Library of Canon Law series.
The translation was prepared by Rev. Fr. Dr. Nicholas Gurgenidze, who noted that the codification of the sacred canons remains one of the central issues in contemporary Orthodox canon law and described the volume as the most comprehensive and authoritative study dedicated to this subject. The present edition is the first translation and republication of the work since its original publication in Greek, making it a significant contribution to Georgian theological and canonical scholarship.
The Georgian edition includes an introductory study of Dr. Gurgenidze on the meaning, history, and theology of the codification of the sacred canons, as well as an article by Grand Ecclesiarch Archimandrite Aetios to the Ecumenical Patriarch’s contribution to Orthodox canon law as a distinguished canonist and Doctor of Canon Law.
