A funeral litany was held at the grave of writer Yuri Slepukhintranslated

On the eve of the 100th anniversary of the birth of the writer Yuri Grigorievich Slepukhin, a memorial event was held at the Krasnaya Gorka cemetery.

The writer’s widow, General Director of the Yu. G. Slepukhin Charitable Foundation “The best books for libraries” Natalya Aleksandrovna Slepukhina, Director of the Vsevolozhsk Intersettlement Library named after Yu. G. Slepukhin Lyudmila Vladimirovna Slepukhina and representatives of the libraries of the Vsevolozhsk region laid flowers at the writer’s grave.

Deputy Chairman of the Missionary Department of the Vyborg Diocese for Culture, Priest Oleg Patrikeev, performed the funeral litany.

The writer lived in Vsevolozhsk for more than 34 years, where he created most of his works. His war tetralogy, which included the novels “Crossroads,” “Darkness at Noon,” “Sweet and Honorable,” and “Nothing But Hope,” brought him wide fame. The Vsevolozhsk Intersettlement Library and one of the city streets are named after Yuri Slepukhin.
