Good to see the museum putting on proper events again in September. I'll try to get along to one of the educational ones — been meaning to learn more about the local church history since we visited last year. Thanks for the heads-up.

The creative workshops sound like a nice change from the usual lectures. I'll probably sign up for one of those if they have any icon-painting sessions.

Yeah, those history talks are worth it. I went to the one last spring about the old Kazan churches and picked up a couple of details I never knew, even though I've lived here 15 years. Which date are you thinking of going to?

The one on 18th September about the old icons looks good to me. I remember you mentioning that spring talk – did they show any photos of the churches that got pulled down in the 30s? I always forget the exact dates.

Those history talks do stick with you. I learned more about the old wooden church on the riverbank than I ever expected from one evening. Are you planning on the September 18th icons one too, or something later?

I like that idea too — the pottery workshop they’re running on the 14th is hands-on and no experience needed, which feels less intimidating than jumping straight into icon painting. Have you done any icon work before?
