On the evening of August 7, in the historical Luzhetsky Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Ferapontov Monastery in the city of Mozhaisk, a unique event took place - a youth missionary liturgy, which immersed participants in the atmosphere of the first centuries of Christianity.

The service was led by the rector of the monastery, abbot David (Kurguzov), who was concelebrated by priest Sergius Andriyanov, rector of the Archangel Michael Church in the city of Mozhaisk. The liturgy was celebrated in a special place - in the crypt, which is the tomb of the noble Savelov family.

It is important to note that the reconstruction of the Savelovs’ tomb at the beginning of the 2000s, with the blessing of the clergy, was carried out in such a way that in the center there was a marble table specifically for performing the liturgy.

A special feature of this night service was the complete absence of electric lighting. The entire service was performed by candlelight, which created a unique, warm and prayerful atmosphere, while simultaneously sending those present to the times of persecution of Christians, when their liturgies were celebrated secretly, in tombstones and catacombs.
