“Imaginary adulthood”: Archpriest Georgy Mukha talked with Oshmyany schoolchildrentranslated

At secondary school No. 3, a meeting was held between the rector of the Church of the Resurrection of Christ, Archpriest George Mucha, and 8th grade students.
The conversation, which took place within the walls of the educational institution, was devoted to a topic that is important for every teenager - the choice of a life path and the dangers of bad habits.
How to protect children from fatal mistakes? How to explain to a young person that the imaginary “adulthood” demonstrated through a cigarette, alcohol or energy drink actually leads to nowhere? These difficult questions became central in the dialogue between the priest and schoolchildren.
The meeting turned out to be very lively and sincere. Father spoke to the children in a language they understood, without moralizing or edifying. He explained to the teenagers how addictions destroy a person’s personality, deprive them of freedom and prevent them from finding true happiness.
The priest urged eighth-graders to think about the consequences of their actions today. The guys listened to the guest with attention and actively asked questions, demonstrating genuine interest in the topic under discussion.
