Metropolitan Teofan celebrates the 35th anniversary of receiving the bishoprictranslated

His Holiness Father Teofan, Metropolitan of Moldova and Bucovina, celebrates his 35th anniversary on Tuesday of his ordination as a bishop.
Metropolitan Teofan was born on October 19, 1959 in Corbi, Argeș county. Between 1980-1984 he studied at the University Theological Institute in Bucharest, where he defended his bachelor's thesis Monastic vows in the light of Christian perfection.
Between 1986-1990, he studied at the Theological Institute "Saint Serge" in Paris, obtaining the title of Doctor of Theology with the work La divino-humanité du Christ et la déification de l'homme dans l'oevre du Saint Maxim le Confesseur.
In December 1984, he took refuge at the Crasna Hermitage of the Sinaia Monastery in Prahova County. He was ordained a monk on July 14, 1985. In the same year he was ordained a hierodeacon, then a hieromonk.
Between the years 1987-1990 he was a clergyman at the "Coverage of the Mother of God" Monastery in Bussy en Othe, France, and in 1990-1991 Secretary at the Patriarchal Cabinet.
