Metropolitan Laurentiu: We understand the Cross as a sign of victorytranslated

His Eminence Father Laurentiu, Metropolitan of Transylvania, officiated the Holy Liturgy on Sunday at the "Coverage of the Mother of God" Hermitage in Șura Mare, Sibiu County. His Eminence spoke about the meaning of the Holy Cross as a sign of victory for Christians.

Father Metropolitan emphasized that, through the sacrifice of Christ the Redeemer, the Cross ceased to be a sign of condemnation and humiliation, becoming a symbol of victory over sin and death and a guide for believers on the way to eternal life.

"The Savior Christ reconciled the world with God. This is the act performed by the Savior through His sacrifice for us and for our salvation. We all want to share in the saving work of Christ and, therefore, the goal of our life is to win the life beyond, that is, the salvation of our souls", emphasized the Metropolitan of Transylvania.

The cross restored the link between man and God His Eminence explained that the Savior's sacrifice on the Cross represents the act by which the connection between man and God was restored.
